I first heard about 陳奕迅 when i was still serving my National Service. His first Mandarin single played on FM93.3 was a song titled 预感. Back then i didn't know who this guy was but thought he has a good voice. He was based mainly in Hong Kong. So, not many people here heard about him. Over the next few years he released a few more Mandarin albums and his songs are being played sparingly over the radio. I liked most of them. Soon i find myself buying an original CD for the first time in a long time! The title of the album i bought was 黑白灰 。The year was 2003.

Down the years, I will go on to buy a few more Original CD albums; all his. : )
Sometime during 2005, i had an out of the world experience. I witness Eason perform live for the very first time!
While driving along CTE one day after school, there was a contest on FM93.3 giving out free Eason Chan passes to a mini showcase @Hard-Rock Cafe, I participated and won! I think that was his first ever performance in Singapore.

I was totally blown away! He didn't need good looks, fancy costumes, fancy dance moves, special lighting or an elaborate stage. All he needed was his voice! Once he starts singing, it's like the world stops spinning. He exudes a charm that will unknowingly bring you into his song, his world. Although many of the songs he sang that night were in Cantonese(a language that i could hardly understand), i still found myself being absorbed into the story he was telling. I can't really find words in my limited vocabulary to describe what i felt that night. Lets just say, i had goosebumps throughout the hour long showcase.
Since then, i knew that if there is only one concert i can watch, it will be his. And so there i was at the Singapore Expo 2007 for his first concert in Singapore.

He was here again some time during 2009 but due to financial constraints, i had to miss it. I was depress for an entire week i think.. Haha..
Then, few weeks ago, Joy saw something while she was reading I weekly and shove the page right in front of my eyes. Oh my!... Singapore is the first stop outside Hong Kong that Eason is bringing his "DUO World tour 2010" to!

September 18? 不是吧!!! 不会吧!!!Not another joke from the almighty on me? Of all the months and weeks there are in a year you chose 18 September?
During the much dreaded reservist? : ( As if the steep steep concert ticket price isn't a big enough deterrent! Wah Piang Oi... Like that how? Sigh... a consolation though that the 18th September falls on a Saturday. There is still a glimmer of hope i could have booked out and be able to catch the concert... i.e of course provided i can afford the tickets...
From now on, every night before i sleep, i am gonna wish upon the stars for a few more bulk orders like the one i got today via sms and Hai Choon will get his dosage of goosebumps cum the 18th September!Wish me good business ba! Huat ah!!!
Oh.. and lastly A Big Happy Birthday to you, 陈奕迅. May your world tour be a success. No more problems to your vocal cords. No more steroid injections needed! See you on the 18th September 2010, hopefully! :P
Shall leave you with one of his earlier performance from 2001 and another from 2006.
